The Challenge
The London Grid for Learning (LGfL) has long stood at the forefront of digital innovation in the UK education sector. As a non-profit trust serving thousands of schools and local authorities, LGfL is responsible for safeguarding, networking, and data infrastructure across one of the most complex educational ecosystems in Europe.
With growing demands for real-time network visibility and performance oversight, LGfL identified a need to build a centralised Network Operations Centre (NOC) within their Broadgate headquarters. The goal: To deliver a high-impact visual solution that provide a comprehensive, real-time visualisation of network health and performance, centralising control and monitoring into one dynamic command platform.
Having collaborated previously with Handy AV on a range of projects—from deploying Fable Robots into schools, to running a successful Shape Robotics pilot at Samsung KX—LGfL knew who to trust when it came to delivering a sophisticated digital signage solution.
The Brief
LGfL required a display setup capable of delivering crystal-clear visualisations of their network dashboards. It needed to be robust, professional, and reliable enough for continuous operation in a mission-critical environment. The solution had to offer:

The Solution
After a detailed consultation and requirements analysis, Handy AV proposed a powerful and precise solution: a 3x3 video wall array using Samsung’s VM55BU 55” Video Wall Displays, securely mounted on a Peerless Modular Pedestal Mount System and powered by Handy AV’s proprietary Blue River™ content management platform via a dedicated media player.
Display Technology: Samsung VM55BU
The VM55BU series was chosen for its ultra-narrow 3.5mm bezel-to-bezel design, offering near-seamless screen continuity—a critical requirement for data visualisation in network monitoring environments. With Full HD resolution (1920x1080) and non-glare panels, the displays provide consistent visibility and readability under varying ambient light conditions.
Additional technical advantages include:
- 500nit brightness, ensuring vivid content delivery even in high-light environments
- IPS panel technology for wide viewing angles and colour accuracy
- 24/7 operation certification, ideal for always-on enterprise use
- Advanced factory calibration, reducing installation complexity and ensuring uniform colour and brightness across all displays
These attributes aligned perfectly with LGfL’s operational needs, guaranteeing uninterrupted and accurate visual performance.
Mounting Structure: Peerless Modular Video Wall Pedestal
To support this powerful display system, Handy AV installed the Peerless 3x3 Modular Video Wall Trolley Mount. This free-standing solution provided unmatched versatility and structural integrity, allowing for:

- Precision micro-adjustment for a flawless finish
- Scalable configuration for future expansions
Its professional-grade engineering ensured a sleek, stable, and future-proof installation that blends seamlessly into LGfL’s modern office environment.
Content Management: Blue River™
Content on the video wall is hosted through Handy AV’s Blue River™, an intelligent digital signage CMS platform. A media player provided and configured by Handy AV delivers content to all nine screens, enabling LGfL to dynamically control and automate what’s displayed on the video wall in real time.
